Oil well production tubing

Once the casing is run and cemented in place, the production tubing enters the well.

Oil pipe joints are connected together through joints to form a pipe string. Running tubing into an oil well is much the same as running casing, except that the tubing is smaller in diameter and removable.

The production string provides continuous drilling from the reservoir to the wellhead and, along with other components of the production string, produces oil and natural gas at the surface.

Unlike casing, production tubing is designed to be installed, removed and reinstalled quickly, efficiently and safely.

Producing oil and gas through tubing is also more efficient than producing through large diameter casing.
